 CCCSC was established in 2009 and is an autonomous organization operating under the auspices of the Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Vietnam. The centre’s priority issues are conducting unbiased public engagement research on impact, vulnerability, adaptation and mitigation of climate change in the Central region of Vietnam; and to support government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the private sector apply the results of our research; Developing short course curricula on climate change adaptation and implement them at the Centre; Conducting consultancies, research, studies, projects on relevant climate change issues in the Central region of Vietnam; and to study potential scenarios regarding climate change issues, such as sea level rise and increased occurrence of extreme weather events in Central Vietnam; and Cooperating with other GOs and NGOs, which are working to address to climate change and related impact, vulnerability, adaptation and mitigation.…Recently, the centre has been successful in identifying and demonstrating agricultural adaptation models base on indigenous knowledge in Backan province; models of converting agricultural waste to energies in Quangtri province; establishing research network on climate change with Danish Institute of International Studies and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Swedish Environment Institute, etc.
